My First Blog Post

We keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things, because we’re curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths...

— Walt Disney.

I’ve never actually had a blog before so this is going to be a learning curve for me… as much as a learning curve as becoming a parent for the first time has been so far… 28 days in… wow… my little boy is three weeks old already… it’s really been a steep learning curve for me… i’m 36 and prior to Louis (that’s his name) been born I had never changed a nappy in my life!

This blog… which I hopefully will keep up with is mainly going to be my way of documenting our story and perhaps leaving something that Louis can read and see in the future about how his parents coped with the early years of his life!

So really I am trying to do two new things at once… write a blog and learn how to be a Dad!

Who am I?

So I mentioned it a little in my previous post however I think it’s important to introduce myself…

I was christened as Matthew however these days I mostly go by Matt and I am 36 years old hailing from the great region of South Yorkshire in the United Kingdom.

I got married for the first time in 2019 to the beautiful Abigail-Marie… who I have been in a relationship with since 4th June 2014 (if I didn’t get that right then she would kill me… I have no excuses though as she had it engraved on the inside of a ring that she gave me once). We got engaged on April 24th 2016 (thank you facebook!!!) at Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World!

Anyway a few years passed… then we decided to get married… when we got final confirmation of the wedding date… it turns out we had just 191 days to plan and organise the wedding.

Anyway that all went smoothly (mostly) and we got married on January 25th 2020 at a place called Whitley Hall in Sheffield.

After the wedding we had a brilliant three week honeymoon in Florida (anybody who knows us will know that we are Florida obsessed!) and we thought life would settle down for a couple of years as we adjusted to been husband and wife…. how wrong we were!!!
